Seam Styles and Protection Levels

Serged Seam

Serged Seam

An economical stitching method for general applications. Serged seams have two pieces of material with a thread that interlocks. Commonly used on limited use clothing where dry particulates are a concern.

Bound Seam

Bound Seam

Bound seams join two pieces of material with an overlay of similar material and is chain stitched through all the layers for a clean finished edge. This stitching provides an increased holdout of liquids and dry particulates.

The 2 outer layers are made of spun-bounded filaments protect against treating and abrasion. Pyrolon Plus 2 Coveralls:

Flame retardant finish with protection against particulates, water and oils Pyrolon Plus 2 disposable coveralls are perfect to use over thermally protective and arc flash protective clothing. These coveralls offer superior wet or dry strength with flame retardancy. Can be used in work environments where hazardous or non-hazardous contaminants may be present. Do not use for fire protection. Avoid open flame or intense heart. Not washable. Washing removes the flame retardancy, water and oil repellent characteristics.

Bloodborne coveralls pass ASTM F1670-1671 testing for penetration of blood, body fluids and bloodborne pathogens.
